The Benedictine Abbey of Pomposa is considered one of the most important Italian Romanesque buildings and is located in the municipality of Codigoro in the province of Ferrara, just 50 km from Sottomarina. It is made up of the bell tower 48 m high (Built in 1063), the Basilica of Santa Maria, built between the VIII and IX centuries, the Refectory and the Pomposa Museum, which is located on the top floor.
