A journey through Chioggia traditions
Staying in Camping Tropical you are very close to the picturesque town of Chioggia, known as "little Venice", both for its similarity in architecture and history, as well as being a working fishing port. The small village in the Venetian lagoon, maintains the charm of fishermen and their sea, with its vessels, streets, bridges and canals linking the many islands which make up this charming old town.
What to see in Chioggia:
- Immersing yourself in the ancient traditions of Chioggia, you can visit the picturesque fish market, covered by the characteristic red awnings;
- Guests can visit the Sottomarina dam, to see where the sea meets the lagoon. An ideal place to recharge your iodine at sunrise or for a romantic sunset walk. Just two kilometers from the campsite;
- The weekly market one of the largest in all of Veneto takes place along the Corso del Popolo every Thursday, and in chioggian dialect it is called "el zioba";
- The dock of Marina San Felice, made of floating bridges, is near the mouth of Chioggia port and Sottomarina Beach.
