Excursion to Abbazia di Pomposa

The Benedictine Pomposa Abbey is considered one of the most important Romanesque buildings in Italy and is located in the area of Codigoro, Ferrara district, only 31 miles from Sottomarina.

It consists of: the 157 ft high bell tower (built in1063), the Basilica di Santa Maria, built between the 8th and 9th centuries, the Refectory, and the Pomposian Museum located on the upper floor.
